Marjolijn Gunst graduated as Theatre teacher and Theatre Maker at the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht. Now she has already been living in Rotterdam for a while and works here as theatre teacher for a.o. the SKVR and ToBe at primary and secondary schools and youth theatre schools. As a creator she could be seen with ‘Ranja in een Bierglas’ at Café Theatre Festival and you may know her from last years RISK half year project. This year she will take on the challenge of creating a play with a (dutch) year group. Within a making process she believes that acting development and creativity of the actors plays a central role. Here love for Greek mythology, fairytales, philosophical themes, movies, art history and photography leads to different approaches and sources of inspiration. This year she wants to bring mankind and metropolis to the stage. The city of Rotterdam and the group of actors as inspiration, mosaic/montage movies as guidelines and with a nod to old stories like Alice in Wonderland and Without Family.
