KWAAD!

Note: this play is in Dutch.

We write the Netherlands, 2027. Geert Wilders has been prime minister for seven years, the Netherlands has left the EU, the gulden has been introduced again, and now you can get the death penalty. Jury duty is a part of that. In 2027 twelve people have been called to the court houses, men, women, natives & foreigners, stupid, smart, white, coloured, gay or straight. The only thing missing is an Eskimo. What will win? The facts? Or the Alternative Facts? Everybody has their own opinion. And everybody has a past which colours this opinion. And they're all susceptible to peer pressure. And sometimes they just joke around. Would you go against the crowd? Really?

De verlorenen

Note: this play is in Dutch.

About those who will only manage to make it with lots of luck, which they don't have. Fucking young and hopelessly unable to deal with the impossibility of everyday life. Wrong decisions, a big mouth, and forever alone. Shut up, they don't want it. Until newcomer Tony mixes up everything with new ideas and promises. Relationships are under tension, plans are made, and everything will be different. De verlorenen follows a group of young people in their search for how to live life. In their inability and impotence, their shortcomings and their desires.

POM & the infinite complexity of being human

Note: this play is in English.

If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're human. Right? So... are you any good at it? Being human? Did you take classes, read books? Do you wonder how they make it look so easy?  Or why we didn’t just all come with instructions and the occasional subtitling? We do. So.

Meet POM. For a little cardboard impression of a human, he's surprisingly good at it.

Director: Cezanne Tegelberg

eigenheimer - the story of hansel and gretel

Note: this play is in Dutch.

''One potato. For four people. Don't be daft. You're talking crazy!''

But what if you don't want to be normal and you want to live different? Above the human race and better than yourself? Be a creator instead of a creature! In this new interpretation of Hansel and Gretel, in which nothing is as it seems, we'll see the true, dark face of the fairytale. Is the witch that bad, is Hansel that nice and is Nietzsche walking around there in the forest? Thinking about life? And whose fault is it anyway?

RISK THEATre FESTIVAL

RISK proudly presents our one and only theatre festival! Three very different acts, directed by four completely different directors. Come and watch everything RISK has to offer!

HELENA | Director: Marjolijn Gunst

Helena lives in a world where beauty is the Highest ideal, where humans go to war to own this beauty and where love is rather blind than truth. What if you are this beautiful? Do you still have something to fight for yourself? Luckily the gods are celebrating and the feast isn't over yet.

MYSTERY FILM | Director: Geert Vermeegen & Bosse Beckers

Even though RISKers prefer to play theatre, our presentation group has made a movie instead! What it's exactly about we'll keep a secret for a while.

OMDAT HET KAN - REPRISE | Director: Sander Zuidhof

Us twentysomethings. We have so much ideals, but we're too lazy to strive to reach them. We want to impress, but we're secretly scared to death. We look for real friendship, but talk mainly about ourselves. We are the generation without balls. The generation which spends her days with Netflix and sleep. Just like that. Because we can.
